Why I sometimes make my clients freeze : )
- Portraits and headshots come in one big clump for me. One needs the other. And I love them both. The reason they are so much fun for me is that, unlike wedding photography (which I also obviously love) portraits come with more control for me in terms of time, lighting conditions, etc. David nee[...]
Who said I can't shoot men! Headshots for Entrepreneurs.
- Recently, in addition to weddings, I've been getting a LOT of requests for small and medium business headshots (and space shots). Erez Landau is the CEO and founder of Erez Israel, a company that provides meaningful tours in Israel and lectures all around the world. The shoot took place in Neve[...]
I'm a stylist : ) Headshots for business and fun (Tel Aviv, Israel)
- It evolved. At first I would email people just a few styling guidelines before the shoot. You know - wear dark colors, blow dry your hair, etc. Then it started changing. Perhaps the biggest contribution was from my friend Maria who started her own full service style agency, Stilista - Boston. Throug[...]
Cold Winter Days (A portrait shoot in Cape Cod)
Sometimes my eye catches something and then next thing you know I have a friend forced into something (meaning a photoshoot) they didn't intend on being in. Luckily, I have very willing friends who approach my photography with enthusiasm and don't mind a large camera stuck in their faces. I'm actu[...]
A 'Just Because' Shoot - Fashion Meets Indian Roots (Prospect Park, New York)
Ratika originally wanted me to do a photoshoot of her and her husband... just a love shoot. However, because of conflicting schedules, she then decided to do a shoot of just her. Here is Ratika standing in what looks to be wilderness but is actually Prospect Park.
Fixing her dress. I love snea[...]
Portrait session: Sara Pinsky (Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist in New York)
Sara Pinsky is a licensed clinical social worker/psychotherapist (her profile on Psychology Today) working in Manhattan (New York, NY). Sara also happens to be a good friend of mine. She is warm, nurturing, accepting, and smart - the perfect recipe for a great therapist. And she cares!
I was e[...]
Headshots for a company!
I totally enjoy shooting anything people-related, which is lucky, because people are the "things" I shoot. Here are some corporate headshots I did for a Manhattan-based company just last month.
I REALLY like working in a fast-paced, slightly anxiety-provoking environment. To me, it's the chao[...]
A 50s themed shoot in black and white
This shoot was styled and made possible (not to mention much easier) by Stilista Boston. As soon as I pitched the idea to my friend Maria she ran with it... like very fast. Cloth diapers and clothes pins were bought, in addition to bright red lipstick (which I realize doesn't show on B&W images). [...]

Just a few pretty pics
This mini photoshoot was based mainly around testing the expodisc that I recently acquired. Your can see me shooting in the image on the right (yes I know you can see me).
Loving the negative soace in this photo.
The expodisc performed pretty well, given the mixture of natural and incandesce[...]
My obsession with the Canon fisheye and the 85mm lenses
Honestly I'm not sure what photographer wouldn't be obsessed with the 85mm L series lense. It has a super sharp focus on the subject and melts the background into butter (assuming your aperture is wide open, of course).
The 85mm lense is amazing for portraits because you are still far enough fro[...]
