Wedding of Nora and Brendan (Dumbo Loft in Brooklyn)
Here is Brendan and Nora in their black and white sophistication : ) Click on any picture to see a more complete gallery on Smugmug!
But let’s get back to the very beginning of the day, where Nora is getting ready.
We did a few family shots on the stairs of the beautiful brown stone building, here is just a casual getting-ready one, where Nora is fixing her sister’s hair.
Nora’s sister helping the bride with her wedding dress belt.
Nora impatiently waits downstairs for Brendan to come for first-look photos. The wedding gown had pockets that Nora loved to use : )
Her friends and sister look at her down from the apartment where she got ready.
The first look. Brendan checks out Nora’s wedding dress.
The bride and groom basking in the first rays of the summer sun.
A mini photo session in Fort Greene.
Brendan stealing a look at Nora.
Laughing together in the park.
Love how the simple fence softens and adds texture to the photo.
We had some fun at the fruit stand. Brendan even volunteered some juggling with three oranges.
Exchanging marriage vows at Grand Ferry Park in Williamsburg.
Walking to the ceremony at the Dumbo Loft in Brooklyn NY.
Some rough graffiti always makes a bride stand out.
I fell in love with the turquoise wall right next to the venue where the wedding reception was held. Thankfully Brendan and Nora agreed to do all the family shots with it as the backdrop. Here is the bridal party in a half-candid shot.
Usually I fight with the sun. This time, it was the wind. There were plenty of formally posed family shots, but I am more excited to post one with Nora’s father’s tie flying up in the air like an energetic arrow.
The bride and groom (or actually husband and wife by this point) waiting for more photos at the wall.
A “Madness Lilac” was one of the flowers that lived inside birdcages as the table centerpieces.
I like to tuck myself relatively far in the crowd so that I don’t miss genuine moments like these.
Brendan’s brother giving a speech.
I love using one of my speedlites to create a romantic rim lighting of the subjects.
And some breakdancing to put the frosting on the cake. Again, feel free to view a more complete gallery of Brendan and Nora’s wedding HERE!
