Wedding: Adam and Pete (Four Seasons, Manhattan)
After being together for more than a decade, Adam and Pete decided to seal the deal with a lovely wedding at the Four Seasons in Manhattan. (I was referred to them by Fran, an amazing past bride of mine whose wedding I shot a while ago and whom I was psyched to see at the wedding. Their very adorable dog was… (you guessed it) the ring bearer. If I were a dog I would probably like to be Adam and Pete’s dog. They are amazing and loving (although maybe slightly obsessed =) owners. The grooms wanted a photojournalistic approach, which is very lucky because that is the kind of photographer I happen to be : ) Both work in finance, so we were all excited when we realized there are huge bills plastered all over the lobby of the Four Season (at least in one section of the first floor). Pete stands next to Adam’s mom who is holding their dog. The family waited for the ceremony to start in a spacious suite. There was a beautiful tight-knit feel to the relationship they have with their relatives. Some champagne helped everyone loosen up around the camera. I keep on coming to the same conclusion every time: to bring an alcohol-filled Nalgene bottle and make people drink it. Right away :P Adam fixes Pete’s bow while sitting on the window. (I may or may not have prompted that move). The ceremony was in a great room that was just the right size. The lack of natural light made the lighting a little tricky. Pete laughs as Adam reads a funny part of his vow. A brother sheds a tear. The officiant was someone Pete went to college with, who, according to her speech, got her license VERY recently. Organizing the flow of the party. The musicians at this party were top of the line – the same as the ones who played at Fran’s wedding. The brothers toast. Serious moment while listening to the speeches. There were a number of toasters who really helped paint a picture for me. Adam and Pete are drowning in friends and family who love them and are very close to them. Later, Adam delivered his own speech, thanking everyone (including even me!) For this wedding there were SO many fun dancing shots that I decided to do a album-style mix of them. And a few others… And maybe just a few more : )
