Almost Here

Pregnancy photography is like no other. While it’s intimate and relaxed just like boudoir photography (at least for me, and hopefully for my models) there is a whole additional dimension of expecting a little human being to come into the world. Inessa is a girl that intersected my past (mostly college days) in many ways and still continues to. She reached out to me on Facebook, and I waited for the day to shoot her with lots of excitement.

Picking out the clothes with her husband (left). If it were up to me, I would just do the whole shoot as situational/photojournalistic photography. For the picture on the right, I was super excited to find these logs piled like this in their yard. Unfortunately the bright sun made it a little more challenging.

At the time of the photoshoot Inessa and her husband just moved into a house which was still in the process of being painted and improved. When I initially inspected the place, I was happy to find one door that looked only half painted and planned on using it later during the shoot as a backdrop. However, somewhere in the middle of the shoot the husband (needing to do something to calm his “I don’t want to be photographed nerves”) went and painted it. Oops.

Um… can you guess the gender? I think that dictated the jersey.

Ever since I met Inessa, I have always admired her sense and confidence with glamor and her ability to flaunt her beautiful features. I cannot stress the importance of eyelashes in a shoot, be it a wedding, boudoir, or portrait photography session.
