Sounds of Brazil – Wedding of Esther and Eli
I shot Esther and Eli’s emotional wedding in December. The most emotional moment for me was when Eli came into the room to veil his bride, followed by a trio band playing heartfelt music.
Feel free to browse some of my favorites below, or see a more complete gallery from the wedding here!
Family shots. As you can see, it was a painful time for some of the participants.
Talking to cousin and mom before the chuppah. When people are talking to each other and not looking at the camera it’s much easier to capture a true emotion.
Dad getting sentimental. It appears that mom is laughing at dad.
Queen Esther. Her beauty and ability to come out amazing in photographs: exceptionally high.
Her ability to leave friends for the purposes of being photographed: significantly lower.
Esther walking seven circles around the Eli. This is done in all religious Jewish wedding ceremonies.
Blissful moment of walking away from the chuppah as everyone cheers and sings.
A little girl being held by her mother. And salmon bites.
Sitting near the Rabbi.
Dancing with the new mother-in-law. I love how her white dress separates her from the crowd and lights her up.
The jump rope challenge. In a traditional Jewish wedding, the guests will often tie together a lot of napkins and use the resulting “rope” for any volunteers as a jump rope. It is not the most efficient jump rope, but it’s a lot of fun.
I was happy to capture this beautiful and personal moment between the newlyweds.
