Curly Wonder
I photographed Sophie when I was in DC this July. I love the grungy (although blurred out) backdrop, which contrasts with her angelic look and the white dress.
From an early age, most kids are conditioned to give a big smile when they see the camera. My goal is to shoot in between the moments of them posing. With kids it’s much easier because you can talk and distract them from what they ‘think’ is their task.
A beautiful child.
Although really shy at first, and trying to not even look at me, Sophie turned out to be a real trooper of a model. I love talking to kids that age because they still live in a world of imagination that you can yourself dive into and participate in.
These photographs were taken right on the canal that runs through the Foggy Bottom in DC.
Sophie got comfortable at the end, and even a little silly, which was perfect in terms of shooting content.
I was obsessed with her gorgeous hair.
On the right, Sophie is interacting with her dad, who would make her break out in shining smiles whenever she looked at him.
